On 16th December we finally opened our new community centre, six years after the main hall of the old centre was declared unfit for purpose and the BCA started campaigning for a redevelopment.

On a cold and sunny Friday morning Councillor Shaista Aziz handed over the keys to the BCA trustees at an informal event. The event was attended by members of the groups who had used the community centre before the redevelopment, local councillors, city officers and residents from Lye Valley and Wood Farm.

Richard Bryant, secretary of the BCA, said: "Everyone who looked around the new centre was impressed by the design and the quality of the building. For those of us who had campaigned long and hard for the new centre there was a sense of excitement mixed with almost disbelief that our goal had been achieved."

Katherine Anderson commented: “I was so overwhelmed by Bullingdon yesterday. Isn’t it fanatastic” (Katherine Anderson).

Richard also had this to say in a video message
